City of New Britain and Department of Labor to Host Job Fair

In an effort to connect local job-seekers with expanding regional employers, Mayor Bobby Sanchez (D) has announced that the City of New Britain and the Connecticut Department of Labor are hosting a Multi-Employer Job Fair tomorrow, August 6th.

“The strength of New Britain has always been our people,” Mayor Bobby Sanchez said. “When we create opportunities for our residents to find meaningful careers, we’re investing in stronger families, stronger neighborhoods, and a stronger local economy. Together, we are building a stronger, safer, and more financially stable city; and when one of us succeeds, we all rise.”

Running from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at New Britain Bees Stadium (230 John Karbonic Way), the event is expected to draw hundreds of job seekers. The fair is free and open to the public, with organizers intentionally removing the hurdle of pre-registration—attendees can simply register upon arrival at the stadium gates.

With more than 50 employers setting up tables, the hiring event spans a diverse cross-section of industries critical to the local economy. Representatives from manufacturing, healthcare, education, public safety, and aerospace will be on hand, alongside the logistics, retail, transportation, and human services sectors.

Organizers have specifically noted that the event aims to support individuals impacted by recent workforce reductions, including Guida’s and Stanley Black & Decker, but the fair is for all job seekers across Central Connecticut, offering opportunities that range from entry-level and skilled trades to professional careers and management roles.

The list of prospective employers includes:

  • General Dynamics Electric Boat
  • Coca-Cola
  • HomeGoods
  • Hospital for Special Care
  • New Britain Police Department
  • TTM Technologies
  • ClarkDietrich
  • Data-Mail
  • GKN Aerospace
  • Army National Guard
  • The Carabetta Companies
  • Worldwide Flight Services

Event organizers add, “Job seekers are encouraged to bring multiple copies of their résumé and dress professionally. Additional information about available positions can be found through CTHires, though positions remain subject to change based on employer needs.”
