“Spark the Park” North-Oak Clean-Up

Continuing its active community organizing, the North-Oak NRZ is teaming up with EbLens for a “Spark the Park” springtime neighborhood clean up in April.

The North-Oak Neighborhood Revitalization Zone, with activist leadership and members, have organized many volunteer neighborhood clean-up activities, working with other local organizations and the city.

They are gaining a partner in the neighborhood clean up being organized for April 6, 2019.

Clothing store chain EbLens, says that it is, “excited to announce the launch of EbLens’ Spark the Park initiative happening in the city where EbLens started 70 years ago: New Britain!”

“This is our opportunity to give back to the community that has given us so much over the last 70 years,” EbLen’s says.

“EbLens and our partners will aid in clean-up efforts for playgrounds, parks or schools by providing resources & volunteers from our organization,” the business says. “Our goal is to help our communities provide clean, safe and fun places where kids can play outside.”

The neighborhood clean-up event will be held from 9:00am to 1:00pm on April 6th. Volunteers will gather at Willow Street Park, at 43 Willow Street.

The rain date for the event is April 13th.

“EbLens, The North Oak NRZ and the City of New Britain are looking for volunteers to help clean up the Willow Street Park,” say event organizers.

Organizers say that those interested in volunteering are asked to contact Daria Keyes at [email protected] or by phone 860-224-2433, extension 112, and that, “All participants should contact Daria by Saturday, March 30, 2019. Space is limited so please sign up ASAP.”

The North Oak NRZ is a community organization, formed under state law, that is committed to the social and economic progress in the North-Oak neighborhood. Last year the NRZ held neighborhood clean up events in April and October.
