The 2020 Summer Music Series is planned to continue to bring music to New Britain’s historic Walnut Hill Park with a concert by “Simply Swing“.
For many New Britain residents, enjoying evenings of live music played at the Darius Miller Bandshell is one of the joys of summer, and it is one of the activities returning after the shut downs from COVID-19 pandemic.
The music series offers performances on Monday and Wednesday evenings, from July 1st to August 31st. The performances are from 7:00pm to 9:00pm
The band scheduled to play on Monday, July 13, 2020, Simply Swing, says that it,
specializes in recreating the music and memories of the Big Band and Swing Dance eras. Under the direction of Composer/Arranger/Drummer Joe LaRosa the popular Connecticut-based ensemble six swinging horns, a dynamic rhythm section and wonderful vocals by Vivian LaRosa.
City Parks and Recreation says that, “masks and social distancing required.”
The Summer Music Series at Walnut Hill Park is a service of New Britain Parks and Recreation.
