KIEDC and St. James Announce July Food Box Distribution

A new Farmers to Families Food Box Program distribution will be held in the North Oak area, announced Kingdom International Economic Development Corporation (KIEDC).

KIEDC announced that its CEO, Metashar Dillon, “and our collective partners are proud to welcome back the Farmers to Families Food Box Program to New Britain. This program is hosted by Saint James Missionary Baptist Church.”

The upcoming food distribution is to be held at Saint James Missionary Baptist Church, located at 45 Daly Avenue.

The distribution is planned for Wednesday, July 7, 2021, from 9:00am to 12:00pm.

“The need for food has been overwhelming especially during the pandemic,” said Nicole Rodriguez. “So many people and agencies that service the community are calling on us for help during this season. We have received requests from many elderly, and single parents. We need the community help to meet the needs of the children and the needs of the people.”

“Please email [email protected] to sign up to donate food and/or volunteer to help with this event,” organizers say.

“Due to a food shortage,” organizers say, “there is only one box per family available on a first come first serve basis.”

“Distribution is low and is not guaranteed,” organizers say, “and supplies will be given out while they last on a first come first serve basis. More volunteer assistance and help are needed to make the 2021 KIEDC Were Stronger Together pop up Food Pantry Events a success.”

“Since the onset of the pandemic KIEDC has fed 77,000 families,” organizers say. KIEDC is a non-profit 501(c)3, public charity organization. The organization says, “Please go to the donate link on the KIEDC website at www.kiedc.com to contribute to the cause.”
