CCSU Students Plan “Rally for Palestine”

CCSU Intersectional Justice Coalition (IJC) has announced a rally and march on the campus of Central Connecticut State University.

Organizers say that they are protesting to, “both a show of support for Palestine and a protest to the university’s ongoing complicity.” The groups say that they, “feel incredibly disappointed, disheartened, and neglected by the CCSU administration’s response to the atrocities in Gaza and Occupied Palestine. Students have tirelessly voiced their concerns, both publicly and behind closed doors, yet CCSU administration has reaffirmed and furthered their complicity.”

The event is to be on April 11, 2024. Organizers say, “The rally begins at 1:30pm. The vigil is expected to start at ~3pm and end at ~4pm,” adding that, “The actions will be located at the Central Connecticut State University campus at 1615 Stanley St. in New Britain. Students will rally in the Student Center Circle (outside of the student center). The vigil will also be in the Student Center Circle.”

Organizers say that the event will feature, “CCSU Student Leaders, CCSU faculty, and local community organizers. Students, community members, administrators, and faculty are expected to be in attendance.”

As NBC News reports, more than 32,000 people have been killed in Gaza by since the October 7, 2023 Hamas attacks, in which more than 1,200 Israelis were killed, tortured and raped and another 240 kidnapped.
