Northend School Playscape Dedicated
Kids at the Northend School have a new, recently dedicated playscape, thanks to the work of school officials and the Arch Area NRZ.
“It was our pleasure (and immensely rewarding), to work on this project with the Northend Elementary School and the Consolidated School District of New Britain,” said the Arch Area Neighborhood Revitalization Zone (NRZ).
The new playground was dedicated in a ceremony on May 3, 2019.
Jan Piechert, Toni Monarca and Elaine Lechowicz represented the Arch Area NRZ at the dedication ceremonies.
The dedication was attended by Northend School Principal Talisha Foy, school Superintendent Nancy Sarra, school system Chief Financial Officer Kevin Kane and the Board of Education members Annie Parker (D) and Nancy Rodriguez (R).
The children of Northend School were then able to enjoy their playground.
“It was a great culmination,” said the NRZ, “and special thanks need to go out to Elaine Lechowicz for the idea and Toni Monarca for the dedication to the project while being installed and once completed helping with the kids at the playground! It’s fun to see what a working group can do!”
“Thank you to everyone who made this needed space possible!!” the school district added.
The Arch Area NRZ is a community organization, formed under state law. It describes its efforts as, “working to improve the local neighborhood and assist all stakeholders in establishing a quality of life for all to enjoy.”
