NBHS Madrigal Feaste to Be Held Online
The New Britain High School Madrigal Feaste is to be held online, with the 43rd annual presentation of the event to be held this week.
The event is a presentation if the NBHS Music Department. Organizers invite people to join the singers, instrumentalists and other entertainers at the event.
With the event, “Inspired by the classic film ‘It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World’ and the surreal David Lynch series ‘Twin Peaks,'” the Consolidated School District of New Britain says that this year’s Feaste, “will feature all of the traditional elements of the Madrigal Feastes in a whole new, cinematic way.”
The event is to be presented on December 18, 2020. It is to appear at 7:00pm that evening, the school district says, “on the NBHS Choral Department’s private YouTube channel.”
“Tickets are $15 for the link to stream the live premiere,” the school district says. A ticket order form is available on the web site of the school district. “For more information, you can email [email protected],” the district says.
The performers are all NBHS students, the New Britain school district says. “Sara Colapietro and Candace Farley star as two rival actresses portraying Elizabeth I and Mary, Queen of Scots, in a radio play when disaster strikes,” continuing,
Due to the outbreak of a mysterious disease, the ladies are quarantined in the radio station for the night, along with Alex Nuñez as the station manager, Margarita Cartagena as the director, Abigail Olson as the announcer, and Genesis Brown as the star of a competing show. The Feaste also features Ana Colon as the show’s sponsor and the rest of the NBHS Madrigal Singers and Treble Choir in supporting roles.
Choral Director Jason Ferrandino is the director and editor of the presentation, “with assistance from the entire NBHS Music Department,” the school district says.
