Ald. Chris Anderson (D-AL), Assistant Minority Leader on the City Council, is to be the guest on the New Britain Forum by the New Britain Progressive.
The New Britain Forum, hosted by John McNamara, is the New Britain Progressive‘s new TV-style online news talk show.
Ald. Anderson is to be the guest on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 10:00am on the New Britain Progressive website at newbritainindependent.com.
Ald. Anderson, a Democrat, was elected to an At-Large seat on the City Council in 2019. By the time he was elected, he had already earned a reputation for his research acumen and, as a Council member, frequently discusses city issues with detailed analysis.
Ald. Anderson has argued in favor of increased education funding and questioned city borrowing — asking detailed questions, and eliciting detailed information from city administrators and consultants as part of his public discussion.
While still a first-term Council member, Ald. Anderson was selected by his colleagues to serve as one of the city’s top Democratic office holders, holding the second-ranking position among Democrats on the Council.
In the New Britain Forum premiere on June 19th, guest Ronald P. Davis was interviewed on topics that included the 2020 summer of protest in New Britain and nationwide, following the murder of George Floyd by police in Minneapolis, and the findings of the “Shaping Peace Together: Advancing Racial and Social Justice” conference by the New Britain Area Interfaith Conference (NBAIC).
